Under: Work Work Work
Tonight was pegged as a nightmare!! I slept most of the day, maybe 10 hours!! I arrived at work, but was in a 'I don't really want to be here' mood!!
I was feeling lots if pressure in my lungs while breathing. I knew something was up, because earlier in the day, I got out of bed to go to the toilet and my world was spinning. I was dizzy!!
I almost made it through my 1st hour when the chills hit. I began shivering violently. Mr. Tat was kind enough to cover my station so I could run to my locker and grab my jacket. The jacket didn't help!! I was shivering all over, and my teeth were chattering.
First break arrived and I was praying that the weather outside was still summer hot. It was pissing down. I then thought to myself "What the hell am I going to do to get warm?". I decided to have a hot cuppa tea. It helped a wee bit.
The night trekked on, an I went from freezing to burning up. Everyone commented on my pasty appearance.
That's when I approached our manager!! I briefly explained that I felt like shit and if she was sending people home tonight, could I please be one of them. (This is an act that I would never do when money is involved) My body was craving to be horizontal!! (I know what you all are thinking with that statement, but it would be a cold day in hell for that to happen......trust me)
At 345am, the news came that 5 of us were going home. I made sure I was in the direct line of sight of the manager. He winked at me and all I could say was "What Time?" he replied "Now". I must have looked at him like I was in love with him because he flashed me a very caring smile and I replied "Thank You".
I didn't even wait to see who the others were. I walked as fast as I could to the locker rooms. I was dressed for home so fast, I don't even remember it.
I don't even remember the drive home. I was in a virtual black out mode. I woke up somewhere around 5am shivering so violent that my body felt like I was hit by a bus. I couldn't move.
I rolled over and turned my electric blanket on "High". That was a mistake!! I fell back to sleep, for how long, I have no clue. But when I woke up my heart was speeding and I was burning up. I was so hot, it felt like my brains were cooking. All I could muster in energy was to throw the blankets off. I couldn't even get up. I lay there panting.
This happens to be the second time I've been this sick, in the last two months. I'm thinking I need to see my Doctor for a more extensive check up.
