Boring Blue Shift

Tonight begins the first night shift of my 5 nights, and it happens to be with a "Joyful" bunch. (NOT!!). It's been an uneventful night, a slow blog night. (boring!!)
Even though I'm working with my son and his girlfriend, they happen to be on the opposite side of the roster, with different breaks. My son is my reliever for breaks, but that just means he's covering me while I'm on my break so I still don't get to speak to him.
I wish Pinky was here, at least I would have someone to talk too. This "Blue" Shift bunch are a real "Stick in the mud" bunch!!
Once first break hits, I think to myself (because no one seems to speak to each other on this shift) "only 6 more hours to go" "I can do this". Usually 6 hours flies by!!
So far Green and Red shift are neck and neck for fun. Yellow's coming second, and Blue's pulling up the rear.
I think I'm going to wait until we pack on the multi pack line, together before I judge them all.
When second break hits, I couldn't stand the silence anymore, and for some reason I felt totally exhausted. I bolted to the locker room and laid my head down on the bench. I made sure I set a timer alarm, just in case, I feel asleep.
I didn't fall asleep, but I wanted to. Usually I'm verbally stimulated and can't seem to shut the hell up, but not today.
When 6am hit I was thankful and grateful to the creature who relieved me. He came on the floor at the 10minute to 6am mark, and came straight to relieve me. I love him!!
I must have got my second wind, because there was no holding me back. I was speed walking for the guardhouse. I jumped in my car with the speed if a gazelle, turned the key, and was flying!! With my music blaring, I made it home and in bed in record time.
I closed my eyes, snuggled warmly under my blankets, thankful for the end of this day!! That's when sleep engulfed me in a matter of minutes.
