Have you ever lent anyone money?? Then, when your friends starts avoiding you, realise that your never gonna see that money, and now it's fucked up your friendship too!!
I've always believed in the saying "Neither a borrower, nor a lender".
What about lending money to your family? Would you do that?
Yesterday, my mother called me asking me to lend her $60,000 dollars to buy this really cheap 'Farm House' in New Zealand.
Of course I refused!! I didn't refuse because I'm neither a borrower, nor a lender. I refused, because at this time, I think buying houses is a bad investment. Our worlds economy sucks at the moment, and the last thing I want is my money tied up in is a property that won't sell easily.
My mother doesn't seem to understand that there's a reason this property is selling cheap. It's selling really cheap because no one wants to buy a house out in the middle of "Bum Fucked New Zealand"!!
If this property was a commodity it would be selling for a shit load of money. That's why "Ocean Front" properties sell for a mint!! Everyone wants an 'Ocean Front Holiday Home' for weekend get-a-ways!! But who in their right mind would buy a Farm House on some green hillside surrounded by shitting cows and sheep?
Certainly not me!!
I cannot understand her thought process. In one breath she tells me that she's having trouble walking and doesn't think she can work much longer (a hidden message to me telling me that she won't be able to pay me back), then in her next breath she wants to live on a fuckin farm. (Which we all know that cows cannot milk themselves)
I'm seriously questioning her mental stability!! Is she CRAZY? I'm starting to think so.
I sure hope I'm not like that when I get old!!
